The following list has been devised by the police department to aid the
community by providing answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.

1. Q: How can I get a copy of a police
report?

A: If you need a copy of a police report you
can stop by the police department Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4:00
PM and ask for the records department. If you need to pick up a copy outside
of the records department office hours you can call 694-1415 in advance during
office hours. The records department will make a copy for you and leave it
with the police dispatcher for you to pick up at any time. A small processing
fee is charged for report copies.

2. Q: How do I pay a traffic summons?

A: You can pay a traffic summons Monday
through Thursday 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the court clerks office. You may also
mail in your summons if the court appearance required block IS NOT checked on
the summons. If you have any questions contact the court clerk at 694-1415.

3. Q: When should I call the Police and
what information do police need to help me?

A: You should call the police department when
you are the victim of a crime, need counseling assistance, or need any other
public assistance. The police need to know you naame, address, telephone
number, what the problem is, who else is involved, and sometimes a brief
history of the event/problem. Never hang up the phone until the dispatcher
tells you to. Remember…the more you help us on the phone the better the
police can help when they arrive.

4. Q: How do I receive information about
neighborhood watch programs, D.A.R.E. programs, teen programs, bicycle
registration, or crime prevention surveys?

A: Simply contact the police department at
856-694-1415 ext. 130 and a police officer can either meet with you in person
or explain a project to you over the phone.

5. Q: What if I’m not sure I need to
call the police?

A: Call us! We will be happy to direct you to
the appropriate agency. The police would rather you call and talk to an
officer than to regret calling.
