Excerpt from Resolution R-62-07:


Vision:
Franklin Township is a clean, safe community free of contaminated sites, with an informed and knowledgeable citizenry that acts to prevent contamination.

Mission:
To assist the government of Franklin Township by using information through the aforesaid federal, state and county resources to identify, control and eliminate contaminated sites within the community and to educate residents on preventative practices.

Goals:
1) To use the aforesaid information obtained from federal, state and county agencies to identify and describe known or suspected contaminated sites;

2) To compile, maintain and routinely update information on known or suspected contaminated sites for use by Township government and staff and to maintain and routinely update such information;

3) To develop educational materials and programs about contaminated sites, hazardous substances, well testing, and land use practices relating to contamination and about prevention of contamination;

4) To assist in promoting successful remediation of contaminated sites;
